Today is the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee!
Troparion:
"Thou wast transfigured on the mountain O Christ our God
showing to Thy disciples Thy glory as each one could endure;
shine forth Thou on us, who are sinners all, Thy light ever-unending
through the prayers of the Theotokos, O Light-giver, glory to Thee"

S Prazdnikom!
Is that Mt Tabor today?
It is Mt Tabor but not "today" (it's not today anymore)--wish it was! I was looking specifically for a news story or pic of the annual cloud-cover on the feast day, but, of course, didn't find anything in English. I should have my husband do a search in Russian. The RU news even covers the Holy Fire on Pascha and says matter-of-factly, "Today the miracle of fire from heaven has again descended..."
If any of you have a picture or story of the cloud-cover on Mt Tabor on the feast of the Transfiguration, please share!!!
(btw, the comment I deleted was my own 'cause I made a mistake.)
It is a shame that the US press never says anything about this. I had to go on the mission field with YWAM to Krasnodar Russia to even find out about the Orthodox Church and these Miracles. Now I am a missionary in my own country. I thank God every day for these blogs, Generation Orthodox, Our Life in Christ, and everyones prayers.
BTW I now have a website for Orthodox Christian Artists - a place where they can gather and post a sample of their portfolio located at www.dotcollective.com It is also where my blog is located.
Seeing this picture was a huge encouragement. My Priest's wife always says this "every day in the Orthodox Church is a miracle"
